A Sad Loss

I have just heard that a once colleague died just before Christmas. Tom Conlon was a lecturer at Moray House and expert on logic programming and knowledge representation among other things! I hadn't spoken to him for many years as our paths had separated a long time ago. It is, however, with great satisfaction that I remember working with him on the CSYS Computing team. Those days in the SQA offices in Dalkieth were made much more bearable due to the conversations and chat with Tom. I loved the way his mind worked and I felt he had a really great understanding of what might make a good, robust and sound course in computing. He was a bit of a maverick and I always liked that as well. He wasn't afraid to stand up and say what he thought no matter whether it was popular or not.

If you visit his memorial website at http://www.parlog.com/tom then you can leave your own tribute in the guestbook.

He will be sadly missed. Tom, you were one in a million!
